Professional internships and Common Final Examination (CFE)

Training and Common Final Examination (CFE)

In addition to its continuous recruiting efforts, Richter hires several students every year through its university recruitment efforts.

Students are given the opportunity to work directly with clients and to take specialized courses and practical training seminars.

Training is our Priority

Training is our number one priority. Through our programs, we offer practical tools while giving young professionals the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge, which will help get their accounting career off to a good start. In addition to the study leaves available for our professionals, the firm also offers them flexible work schedules so they can finish their workday early and attend their classes.

Preparatory Training

The initial two weeks of training, which include team-building activities, provide students with the knowledge and tools they need to contribute to the success of their respective teams.

In-house Practical Training

Richter gives students the opportunity to complete practical training in one of the firm’s specialized service teams, such as Audit, Tax, Risk Management, Transaction Advisory Services, Financial Restructuring and Insolvency, Enterprise Group, Financial Reporting, Wealth Management and Aboriginal Advisory Services. Therefore, for a two- to three-week period, students are able to familiarize themselves with the different skills and knowledge sets used in each department.

Audit Mandates

Throughout their internship, each student participates in at least one audit mandate. They work in groups with people at different levels within the audit team. The audit lasts approximately two weeks and groups are made up of three to six people, depending on the size of the mandate.

CFE Preparation Program

Richter’s CFE Preparation Program, which is one of the best in the profession, is designed to support young professionals in obtaining their designation. It includes the following:

  • CFE simulations, designed to recreate a typical day at the CFE, with comprehensive feedback from our own experienced markers;
  • Full-day external and internal preparatory courses led by some of the best professional CFE coaches in the profession;
  • Access to CFE coaches on an individual basis throughout the summer, providing continuous feedback on a candidate’s efforts.

It should also be pointed out that Richter provides considerable financial support to students.
