Richter bulletin | Highlighting Innovation: Richter launches the very first Richter AInnovation Contest!

The contest was designed to:

  • Contribute to the profession by becoming part of a mass movement encouraging and supporting innovation in internal auditing
  • Put the spotlight on internal audit teams in a creative and innovative context
  • Encourage auditors to become personally involved in the evolution of their profession

The Richter AInnovation Contest was launched as a platform to mobilize the internal audit profession and act as an initiator of change in the market. This year’s contest provided a unique opportunity for the individuals from the participating teams to highlight their innovative ideas through creative and inspiring projects.

Thirteen teams took part in this first edition of the contest. The submitted projects underwent a thorough assessment by an independent jury comprised of some of Montreal’s finest business leaders: Carolle Brabant, the former Executive Director of Telefilm Canada; Jean A. Élie and Michel Lavigne, Corporate Directors; Paul Noiseux, Chief Financial Officer of La Coop Fédérée and Sylvie DesRoches, Vice President of Internal Audit at Fonds de solidarité FTQ.

Following a period of thorough deliberation, the judges selected three finalist teams: the team of Carine Verlez/Linda Lazure from the National Bank of Canada, Daniel Lacroix/Jean Morisseau/Mathieu Archambault from WSP Global Inc., and Marie-Josée Lamonde/Pierre Roy from the National Bank of Canada.

The team of Carine Verlez and Linda Lazure from the National Bank of Canada was chosen as the grand prize winner and received the Richter AInnovation Award for their project on auditing culture! We wish to acknowledge the support of Chief Audit Executive Marie-Chantal Gingras, who acted as a mentor to this team. The winning team received a prize of $1,500 in the form of a donation to the Regroupement Partage – the charitable organization of the winning team’s choice.
