Richter Alumni Network
As we celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2026, we’re formally launching the Richter Alumni Network: a way to stay connected to the people who helped shape Richter over the last 100 years and be part of what comes next.
Designed as a trusted, alumni-only community, this network offers curated professional connections across industries, invitations to select events and senior-level roundtables, early access to thought leadership and exclusive learnings through alumni-led webinars on industry trends, regulatory updates, and more. Members will also be recognized and celebrated through alumni spotlights, milestone events, and centennial programming.
Whether you want to stay informed, collaborate, refer, mentor, speak at up-coming events, or simply reconnect with former colleagues, the Richter Alumni Network brings you back into the special community that is Richter.
Linda Stroude
CFO, Starlight Children’s Foundation
Summer student: 1997
Full-time: 1999–2014
I began my career at Richter Usher Vineberg as a summer student and grew through the audit department before transitioning to the Professional Practice Group, where I reviewed financial statements of public, private, and not-for-profit organizations to ensure compliance with accounting and auditing standards and delivered training to staff and partners. Richter instilled in me the belief that you can work incredibly hard while still enjoying the people around you—long days, late nights, and strong team camaraderie were defining experiences. The depth of experience across industries and relationships continues to shape how I lead and collaborate in my role today.
Rob Laufer
CFO, Browns
Years at Richter: 1990-2009
I began my career at Richter in 1990 with a BA in political science and a few BComm courses. Richter taught me accounting, auditing, and so much more. My mentors and experience at Richter taught me how to view things from our clients’ perspectives, manage people, handle deadlines and stress, recruiting, administration and navigate complex family dynamics. I learned about personal and corporate taxation, succession planning, banking relationships, and public issuances. The list is so extensive, it is too long to fully enumerate. This extensive knowledge and experience at Richter prepared me for the CFO role at Browns, which I’ve held for 16 years. I’ve never regretted a single day at Richter as it laid the foundation for my successful career.

Years at Richter: 2013-2021
Richter played an important role in my professional journey. It is where I developed strong values around integrity, collaboration, and a thoughtful approach to my work. Today, at Desjardins, those lessons continue to guide how I work with colleagues and build lasting relationships with clients. I remain very grateful to Richter for the years I spent there, the experience I gained, and the relationships that have stayed with me ever since.
James Papanastasiou
Senior Vice President & Chief Accountant, Redbourne
Years at Richter: 2010-2018
As I reflect on my time at Richter, I am grateful for the experiences and relationships that shaped my professional and personal development. Joining the firm straight out of CA school, I was entrusted early on with a diverse range of challenges and opportunities that helped me grow into a well-rounded professional. Richter distinguished itself as an organization whose culture was firmly rooted in excellence, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right.
I am particularly thankful for the relationships I formed during my time at the firm. Some of my closest friends today began as summer interns with me in 2010. I was also fortunate to benefit from the guidance of a partner whose mentorship was instrumental throughout my eight years at Richter, and who continues to be a valued mentor and friend today. Finally, and most importantly, it was at Richter where I met my lovely wife, with whom I now have three wonderful children.
For all of these reasons, Richter will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Ilana Einheiber
CFO, Joddes
Years at Richter: 1994-2017
I am grateful for my time at Richter as it instilled in me a strong work ethic that shaped me into the professional I am today. Equally as important, during my time at Richter it felt like I was part of a big family, I formed lasting friendships and always felt supported. The Richter experience continues to this day in the form of a great ‘client-practice’ partnership.
